RSM Event Gallery: Sir James Paget and his eponymous diseases: 150th anniversary celebration
The RSM, the RCS and Barts have came together to present an event focused on Paget’s diseases, where we honoured the legacy of RSM and RCS Past-President Sir James Paget Bt.
Organised by Dr Christopher Rowland Payne and led by the RSM Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery Section, the programme focused on Paget’s lasting impact and his eponymous diseases as well as on the life and work of this distinguished Barts surgeon and pathologist. Our guest of honour was Sir Henry Paget Bt, direct lineal descendant of Sir James Paget Bt, and all who attended had the opportunity to shake hands with him and with history.
The event was run in collaboration with the RSM Obstetrics & Gynaecology Section, RSM Section of Pathology, RSM History of Medicine Society, the RSM Rheumatology & Rehabilitation Section, RSM Orthopaedics Section, the RSM Plastic Surgery Section, RSM Surgery Section, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal and Ancient Hospital of St Bartholomew to pay tribute to Paget’s huge contribution.
